This Navajo basket is handmade by Jonathan Black, a Navajo artist, and comes from the Twin Rocks Trading Post. Jonathan Black was well known for his weaving, specifically his ability to create symmetrical designs with high detail through tight spacing.
This basket is 14" in diameter. It uses a sun symbol in the center with 4 horses surrounding it, with a spirit and a horse along the outside edge to reference the story of Johano-ai, the Navajo Sun God.
