This kachina is 11.5 inches tall and its design resembles that of the Kaletaka kachina. These carvings represent male dancers who during Hopi rituals, impersonate numerous spirit beings called Kachinas. The dolls are not worshiped or prayed to as idols, but are used more in ceremonial education. John Molfese is a fine arts collector, archaeologist at the field museum, and is a citizen of the Navajo tribe.
